Managing all chart types available in the program.

Chart Types

This is where all chart types are created and configured — the ones you see in the top panel of the program. The list of chart types in that panel will appear in exactly the same order as they appear in this window. You can:

• Create new chart types (directional, progressive, return, and thematic). For each created chart, you can set a name, abbreviation, and write an accompanying comment.
• Change the order of chart types in the menu by dragging them with the mouse.
• Add separators to group chart types. This can be done from the context menu by right-clicking on the desired row and selecting Add separator.
• View detailed descriptions of built-in (non-editable) chart types.

Non-editable charts are highlighted in an alternate color; they can only be enabled or excluded from the current configuration. Detailed information for these chart types is provided in the comments.

Default Chart Types

• Radix — all objects in the wheel are calculated for the date and location specified in the slot of that wheel.
• Transit — functionally equivalent to the Radix chart type. The chart is calculated as an ordinary event. This chart type was added for correct calculation of the aspect direction and for the convenience of users accustomed to seeing it in astrological software.
• Solar Return — the current solar return for the natal data of the base wheel, on the date of the wheel with this chart type. The location of the solar return is taken from the same wheel. With the corresponding option in the “Settings” menu, the reference date will be saved to the event pool (a temporary database in the left panel). It can also be viewed by hovering the mouse cursor over the solar return wheel data.
• Lunar Return — the current lunar return for the natal data of the base wheel, on the date of the wheel with this chart type. The location of the lunar return is taken from the same wheel. Reference date manipulations are analogous to the solar return.
• Monthly Solar Return — the current monthly solar return for the natal data of the base wheel, on the date of the wheel with this chart type. The location of the solar return is taken from the same wheel. Reference date manipulations are analogous to the solar return.
• Daily Solar Return — the current daily solar return for the natal data of the base wheel, on the date of the wheel with this chart type. The location of the solar return is taken from the same wheel. Reference date manipulations are analogous to the solar return.
• Annual Horoscope — the chart of the Sun’s ingress into 0 Capricorn that occurred before the date of the wheel with this chart type. This chart type is quite popular in Hamburger Astrology. It shows the tendency for the entire following year. It is especially relevant when the native’s birth time is unknown but an annual forecast is needed. The reference date is generated. Reference date manipulations are analogous to the solar return.
• Mundane Meridian Solar — first the annual horoscope is calculated, then the subsequent event is found when the transiting Sun conjoins the IC of the annual horoscope chart. The reference date is generated. Reference date manipulations are analogous to the solar return.
• Individual Meridian Solar — first the preceding Solar Return is calculated, then the subsequent event is found when the transiting Sun conjoins the IC of that Solar Return chart. The reference date is generated. Reference date manipulations are analogous to the solar return.
• Solar Eclipse — the solar eclipse preceding the date of the wheel with this chart type. Reference date manipulations are analogous to the solar return.
• Lunar Eclipse — the lunar eclipse preceding the date of the wheel with this chart type. Reference date manipulations are analogous to the solar return.
• Minor Lunation — the chart of the nearest preceding event at which the angular distance between the Sun and the Moon is a multiple of 11.25 degrees.
• Composite — a composite for the data of the wheel with this chart type and its base wheel.
• Davison Chart — the Davison relationship chart for the data of the wheel with this chart type and its base wheel.
• Antiscia — a chart with the antiscia of the objects corresponding to the base wheel of the given one. To compare this chart with the natal chart, build a chart with the same data in another wheel but with the Event chart type.
• Contra-Antiscia — analogous to the Antiscia chart type, but contra-antiscia are calculated instead.
• Zodiacal Divisions D9 — shows the novenaries for the objects corresponding to the base wheel of the given one.
• Zodiacal Divisions D12 — shows the dwads for the objects corresponding to the base wheel of the given one. Each sign is divided into 12 parts, the first of which corresponds to Aries.
• Zodiacal Divisions D12M — shows the dodecatemoria according to Marcus Manilius for the objects corresponding to the base wheel of the given one.
• Zodiacal Divisions D13 — shows the 13th division chart for the objects corresponding to the base wheel of the given one.
• Previous Syzygy — the prenatal syzygy chart for the data of the wheel with this chart type. The syzygy type is selected here.
• Mercury Return — analogous to the solar return, but the Mercury return is calculated instead.
• Progression — the most standard type of progression (day for a year). The Daily MC Arc per Year algorithm is selected for the cusps.
• Profection — a directional chart at a rate of 30° per year.
• Real Profection — a standard profection, but the cusps are calculated from the directed MC.
• Direction — symbolic zodiacal direction at 1° per year.
• Solar Arc Direction — objects are shifted by the arc of the progressed Sun.
• Equatorial Direction — the same as a simple direction, but the directional arc is calculated along the equator, and then the object coordinates are converted back to the ecliptic.
• Primary Direction — use in mundane projection! See “Creating a Directional Chart” below.
• Sun on AS — the chart of the preceding conjunction of the Sun with the Ascendant for the data of the same wheel.
• Moon on AS — the chart of the preceding conjunction of the Moon with the Ascendant for the data of the same wheel.
• Progression (fast houses) — the standard type of progression (day for a year). However, the “Real Houses” algorithm is selected for the cusps.
• Tertiary Progression — one day equals one month. The cusp algorithm is 1° MC per Year.
• Phase Lunar — the angular distance between the luminaries is the same as in the natal chart.

Creating a Directional Chart

You can choose one of three direction types:

• Zodiacal — objects move by a certain arc along the ecliptic.
• Equatorial — objects move along the equator.
• Primary — for use in mundane projection. Differs from the equatorial type by the presence of the Account for Latitude option. If the Daily Arc option is enabled, you can select the object whose progressed arc will be used to calculate the directions. If this option is disabled, the direction coefficient will be calculated based on the specified arc and the time period that corresponds to that arc.

The arc can be set manually or selected from the context menu:

• Naibod — 59' 08"
• Cardano — 59' 12"
• Mean Moon Step — 13°10' 37"

List of periods:

• Second
• Minute
• Hour
• Day
• Sidereal Day
• Tropical Month
• Sidereal Lunar Month
• Synodic Lunar Month
• Tropical Year
• Sidereal Year
• Symbolic Year (360 days)
• Solar Month — 1/12th of a tropical year.

The period can be multiplied by a specified multiplier.

If the Daily Arc option is enabled, the coefficient will be calculated dynamically, taking into account the arc traversed by the selected object in one day. The object can be selected from the Sun through Pluto.

Not only the natal chart (by default) can be directed, but also the solar or lunar return preceding the direction date.

The Calculate Cusps from MC option — MC is calculated as an ordinary directed object, and the remaining cusps are calculated from it. This approach is used, for example, by Irina Timoshenko in the so-called “Real Profections.”

Creating a Progressive Chart

The progression coefficient is calculated depending on the selected periods (the base period and the correspondence period).

Algorithms:

• Real Houses
• 1° MC per Year
• Solar Arc from MC
• Daily MC Arc per Year

Creating a Return Chart

Here you can specify the object whose return will be calculated.

Creating a Thematic Chart

A thematic chart is a chart in which a certain object (e.g., the Sun) is in conjunction with the Ascendant. In these settings, you can select both the object itself and one of the chart angles (AS, DS, MC, IC) with which it will be in conjunction.

Chart type files are located in the program folder “sets/ChartTypeSets”.

Solar and Lunar Returns

Display of annual (Ay) and monthly (Am) profected Ascendants in solar and lunar return charts. In the solar return chart:

• Ay shows the profected annual Ascendant.

In the monthly solar return chart:

• Ay shows the profected annual Ascendant at the time of the monthly solar return.
• Am shows the profected monthly Ascendant at the time of the monthly solar return.

In the lunar return chart:

• Ay shows the profected annual Ascendant at the time of the lunar return.
• Am shows the profected monthly Ascendant at the time of the lunar return.

Monthly solar returns use a profection dividing the year by 12; lunar returns use division by 13.

If the Discrete Profection option is activated, the profected objects are recalculated only at the moment of solar (lunar) return change; otherwise, they move continuously.

Harmonic Charts: Select the 1st harmonic objects that will be shown in higher harmonic charts.
