Aspect Chains

Aspect Chains

About the Method

This calculation module is part of the “Astrological Algorithm” system by V.V. Tarasov. The Aspect Chains method allows you to use aspects in predictive charts as ready-made “event formulas,” reading information about current and future relationships almost in a single sentence.

What is an Aspect Chain

In classical astrology, aspects are often considered in isolation from one another. Tarasov’s methodology emphasizes that aspects do not work alone; they form sequential interconnections — Aspect Chains.

The energy of planets and house cusps interacts through zodiac signs, but it is the aspect that triggers the practical realization of this interaction. A chain shows the step-by-step development of a situation: from the birth of a motive to the final result in the form of a specific event.

How Forecasting with Chains Works

Special attention in this method is given to forecasting using dynamic charts (Solar Returns and specific directions, for example, a Solar Return direction using the mean step of the Sun or Moon). The position of the directional or solar tenth house cusp (MC) often serves as the foundation for analyzing significant life events.

Algorithm for working with this module:

  1. Starting Point: Building a chain usually begins by evaluating the position of the directional MC (or another significant cusp/planet) for any existing aspects.
  2. Orbs: Tarasov’s system uses strict and very tight orbs for precise forecasting (for example, about 44 minutes before exact and 24 minutes after). This avoids an “event mush” and clearly ties the development of situations to a specific time. Note: You can adjust the orbs and the aspect set in the program settings (Settings -> General Preferences -> Aspectation -> Aspects and Orbs).
  3. Chain Development: The program builds a sequence (chain) of aspects, showing how the initial impulse (e.g., an aspect from the MC) transfers energy to the next planet, which in turn forms further links leading to the final event.

The dynamic time scrolling feature in ZEUS (Dynamics) allows you to visually see the exact moment these aspect links form or break, pinpointing the exact time an event formula is triggered.
