Main Objects Catalog

This dialog window is designed for managing sets of the chart’s main objects.

Set Management (Left Panel)

The left part of the window displays a list of existing sets. The following actions are available via the context menu (right mouse button):

• Create — create a new empty set;
• Clone — create an exact copy of the selected set;
• Rename — change the set name;
• Delete — delete the selected set.

Editing a Set (Right Panel)

When any set is selected in the left list, all available objects will be displayed in the right part of the window. The table contains the following columns (left to right):

• Activity (checkbox) — enable or disable the display of the object on the chart;
• # — the object’s sequence number in the list;
• Name — the object name;
• Symbol — the astrological glyph of the object;
• Color — the symbol color. To edit, double-click on the cell with the left mouse button: in the window that opens, you can choose a preset color or create your own;
• Longitude — ecliptic longitude calculated for the date of the selected wheel;
• Latitude — latitude calculated for the date of the selected wheel;
• Distance — the distance to the object in astronomical units (AU) for the date of the selected wheel.

(Note: the wheel for coordinate calculation is selected using the control in the lower-right corner of the window. The list can be sorted by any column).

Linking Sets to Wheels

The window provides a “linking” button :

• If the button is pressed (red) — the selected object set is applied globally to all chart wheels.
• If the button is not pressed — the selected set is assigned exclusively to the current wheel (the wheel is selected in the adjacent drop-down list). Thanks to this feature, independent sets can be assigned to each wheel. For example, this allows coloring the same planets in different colors depending on which wheel they are in.

Additional Features:

• Interactivity: The chart responds in real time to any changes in the dialog window.
• Auto-save: All changes are saved automatically both when switching to another set and when closing the window. No additional save buttons need to be pressed.
• Alternative Glyphs: The window provides the ability to quickly change the display symbols for Uranus and Pluto.
• Quick Access Widget: A widget can be used on the right panel of the program’s main window for quickly switching the current object set, as well as for opening the catalog itself.

File Location:

User and system main object sets are physically stored in the program directory at: sets/ObjectSets.
