Operational Settings
This section contains useful switches and functions for quickly managing the behavior of dials and program windows. Note: these settings are global and apply to all your configurations.
Quick Data Reset
The first two options allow you to instantly bring the dates and coordinates of the additional (outer) dials to a common denominator:
- Reset 1: (
.) Sets the data of all additional dials to the current date (now) and current location (the default city set in the program settings). - Reset 2: (
Alt + .) Sets the data of all additional dials to the current date (now), but ties them to the location of the Base (inner) dial. This is especially convenient when building transits or solar returns when the native has not relocated.
Display and Window Management
- Alternative chart: (
Q) In any program configuration, you can pre-configure an alternative chart display (a different combination of chart elements). This option allows you to switch the graphical view of the main screen from the base to the alternative and back with a single click. - Automatic dial deactivation: The program allows you to open the chart of any dial in a separate, independent graphical window. If this option is enabled, when a dial is moved to a separate window, it will be automatically deactivated (hidden) on the main screen to avoid duplicating information.
- Close open windows: (
Ctrl + W.) A button for quickly clearing the workspace (closes all open windows, leaving only the main program window).
Synchronization and Orientation
- Synchronize additional dials: If this option is active, any change of date, time, or location in one of the additional dials will automatically be mirrored to all other additional dials. This saves time when analyzing complex multi-level forecasts for the same date.
- Chart orientation by current dial: When this function is enabled, the chart’s appearance dynamically adjusts to the selected (active) dial. If you make the 2nd or 3rd dial active, the program visually rotates the entire chart as if that dial were the inner (base) one, setting its Ascendant and house grid as the orientation basis for all other dials. This function, in particular, is automatically triggered when building horoscopes from the Princeps.
