New Event

The new event creation window can be opened in several ways:

• Menu Session>New Event
• Hotkeys CTRL + N
• Select New from any wheel menu
• Double-clicking on an event row in any of the wheel slots

Creating a New Event

Enter the event name, date, and time.

When entering a city name, matching suggestions will appear below the field. You can either select from the available options or type the full name of the locality. If the locality is found in the program’s Atlas, its coordinates and time zone* will be set automatically for the entered date and time. If the entered locality is not in the Atlas, you need to:

1. Enter the city closest to the desired locality that is present in the Atlas;
2. Type the desired name in the locality field;
3. Adjust the coordinates by first clicking the lock button ;
4. When clicking the Create button, the new locality will be saved to the user Atlas, where it can be selected when needed .

Localities you work with are automatically saved to the user list, which you can always edit. It is used to quickly access user-defined or frequently used localities.

You can enter a comment for the event in the comment field.

You can also select the event type from the available options: Event, Natal, Horary, Election, Decumbiture, Mundane.

If the Natal event type is selected, you can additionally enter:

• The native’s gender
• A conditional rating on the Rodden scale (how much the native’s data source can be trusted)
• The Rectification flag, indicating that the native’s data has been rectified

Before clicking the Create button, you can select the wheel to which this event will be applied.

Additional Buttons

Top buttons of this window:

• New Place — this option is for creating an event with a locality not linked to the program’s Atlas. You only need to specify the coordinates of the locality and set the offset from Greenwich.
• Open Database — you can open the Database directly from this window, for example to save the entered event.
• Save to Current File — saves the current event data to the last file you accessed. If such a file exists, it will be shown at the bottom of this window.
• Copy to Clipboard — the event data will be copied to the clipboard, after which it can be pasted into any text editor, a Skype window, etc.
• Paste from Clipboard — if you have copied an event string from a text editor, Skype, etc., you can paste that data directly using this option.
• Select Image — select an image associated with this event.

Left buttons:

• Now — to set the current date and time
• Atlas — opens the atlas dialog window where you can select the required locality. Using this window is not mandatory. To enter data for any city, simply start typing its name in the corresponding field, and matching suggestions will appear in the drop-down list, where you may find the desired city.
• Here — set the coordinates corresponding to the default locality configured in the menu Settings>Global Settings>Place.

About the Time Zone Table

The time zone data in our program is highly accurate: instead of copying information from a single source, we cross-reference several independent sources and, in disputed cases, refer to primary documents (legislative acts, official decrees). This minimizes the errors typical of single-source solutions.
