Lot Catalog

This dialog window is designed for creating, editing, and managing Lot sets.
Each row in the set table contains the main attributes of the Lot: its formula, full and abbreviated name, symbol (glyph), display color, and the calculated ecliptic longitude value for the date of the selected wheel. Note: different calculation variants can be configured for day and night birth charts (as well as for male and female chart types).
Set Management
- Selection and saving: A list of existing sets is displayed on the left. Selecting a different set or closing the window automatically saves all changes made.
- Creating a new set: Right-click in the left list and select “Create”. Enter a name for the new file.
- Quick access: A widget can be activated on the right panel of the program’s main window for quick switching of the current Lot set and calling this dialog. Set files are stored in the
sets/lotSetsdirectory.
Editing Lots in a Set (Right Panel)
To add a new Lot, right-click in the right part of the window and select “Add Lot”. A row with a default template will appear. Rows can be reordered by dragging with the mouse. A search for the desired Lot by name fragment is also available.
Working with columns (left to right):
- Activity (first column): Click to enable/disable the display of the Lot on the chart.
- Lot Name: Edited by double-clicking.
- Abbreviated Name: Edited by double-clicking. If set, this text (rather than the glyph) will be displayed on the chart’s extra wheel.
- Glyph (Symbol): Double-click opens a menu for selecting available symbols.
- Color: Double-click opens a palette for selecting a color.
- Formula: Edited by double-clicking (see detailed rules below).
- Ecliptic Longitude: Not editable. Calculated automatically for the active wheel.
Removing a Lot from the set is done via the context menu (right-click on the row -> “Delete”).
Formula Writing Rules
A Lot formula is built from abbreviated object codes, mathematical operators, and special symbols. Important rules:
- Case sensitivity: All abbreviations are case-sensitive (enter them exactly as listed below).
- Spaces: Spaces are not allowed in formulas.
- Order: Calculation always proceeds strictly from left to right.
1. Mathematical Operators
+— add the ecliptic longitude of the next object.-— subtract the ecliptic longitude of the next object./— find the midpoint between the result of previous calculations and the next object.[and]— square brackets. If the formula is calculated for a night event, the mathematical signs before the objects enclosed in brackets are automatically inverted (+ changes to -, and - to +).
2. Constants and Comments
- Degree values (integers and decimals) can be used in formulas, for example:
3,15.21,270.234. Usage example:VP+22.5. - Formula lines beginning with
//are treated as comments by the program and do not participate in calculations.
3. Rulers (Dispositors) and References to Other Lots
- Rulers: To use the ruler (dispositor) of a planet in a formula, add the
!sign after its code. For example, the Lot of Children (Ascendant + Moon - dispositor of Moon) is written as:AS+MO-MO!. - Nested Lots: A formula can reference another Lot from the same set. To do this, enter the row number of the desired Lot and add the letter
r. Example:AS+SU-12r(use the calculation result of the Lot from row 12). Row numbering starts from 1.
