Extra Objects Catalog

Extra objects are additional objects displayed on the chart on a special extra wheel, which can be activated with the F5 key:

This dialog window is designed to manage sets of such objects and configure them in detail.

Window Structure and Controls

The interface is divided into several functional blocks:

• Set List (Leftmost column): Displays saved extra object sets. Via the context menu (right mouse button), sets can be Created, Deleted, Cloned, or Renamed.
• Current Set Contents (“Selected” column): Displays the objects included in the active set.
  • Editing: Objects can be removed from the set or their color changed via the context menu or the buttons below the list (“Delete”, “Color”).
  • Renaming: Available by double-clicking on a row or via the context menu (supported only for stars, asteroids, lots, lunations, eclipses, and fixed objects).
• Categories and Object Database (Right part of window): Contains a list of available categories. When any of them is selected, the objects belonging to that category will be displayed in the “Available” column. The number of objects is shown in parentheses next to the column header.

Adding Objects to a Set To add new items, select them in the “Available” column and move them to the “Selected” column using the arrow button or by simple drag-and-drop.

Available Object Categories:

• Main Objects — fully duplicate the program’s base objects.
• Midpoints — calculated for all possible pairs of main objects.
• Stars — stars from the selected set file are displayed (selected at the bottom of the window). The star sets themselves are created in the star catalog.
  • Calculation options: You can fix the natal position of stars for direction charts (corresponding checkbox).
  • Display options: Show all selected stars or only those forming a conjunction with the chart’s aspecting objects. The conjunction orb is configured here.
  • Text search of stars by name is available.

  All stars from the current extra object set will participate in the “Aspect List” scene table and in the main aspect table.

• Lots — the list is formed based on the current lot set (the file is changed in the bottom panel). An option is available to display abbreviated lot names.
• Asteroids — the number of available asteroids depends on the presence of ephemeris files in the ephemerides folder. By default, the program includes ephemerides for the first thousand (№ 0–999).
  • Adding new ones: Ephemerides for other asteroids can be downloaded from astro.com. Files are grouped into folders ast0, ast1, etc. (1000 objects each). The entire folders or individual ephemeris files (e.g., se03721s.se1 for asteroid № 3721) should be placed in the ephemerides directory. The path to this folder can be changed in settings. Missing asteroid ephemerides can also be added from the asteroid catalog.
  • Management: Quick search by number or name fragment is available. Via the context menu, the list can be sorted alphabetically or by number.
• Preceding / Subsequent Lunation — the phase (new moon, full moon, Sun at full moon, or syzygy) preceding the current wheel’s event or immediately following it. Syzygy settings are configured in a separate window.
• Preceding / Subsequent Eclipse — various types of eclipses before or after the current wheel’s date.
• Mutation — the preceding or subsequent Great Conjunction (conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn).
• Antiscia and Contra-Antiscia — calculated for the ten main objects.
• Natal Arc Lots — used exclusively in predictive charts, as their calculation is based on the natal (base) wheel data (according to the methods of W. Lilly, J. Frawley). More details can be found in the description of the wheel menu.
• Zodiacal Divisions — novenaries, dodecatemories (according to Marcus Manilius), and other sign division variants.
• Fixed Position — allows you to manually enter a name and exact coordinate for a user-defined point (filled in the bottom fields of the window).
• Planetary Orbit Elements (apsides (aphelion, perihelion) and nodes). Currently implemented only in the mean variant. The true calculation option will be added in subsequent program updates.

Additional Features:

• Quick Access Widget: A widget can be activated on the right panel of the program’s main window for quick switching of extra object sets and fast access to this catalog.
• File Location: User extra object sets are physically stored in the sets/ExtraObjectSets directory.
