Returns

This calculation block allows you to build return charts for planets (from the Sun to Pluto) within a specified time range. The most popular example of such a calculation is the Solar Return. The program takes into account the phases of planetary motion, so a return (e.g., of Mars or Mercury) can occur in either a direct or retrograde phase.
Main Settings
In the upper part of the window you can select the planet for calculation (icon at the bottom left), set the time range, and establish the location:
- Geographic location: By default, the native’s birthplace is used, but if the person experienced a return (e.g., a Solar Return) in another city, you can change the coordinates directly in this window by clicking the globe icon. If the adjacent
Save return locationcheckbox is activated, the selected location will be saved when the window is opened subsequently.
Specialized calculation modifiers are available in the bottom panel:
- Consider precession: When this option is enabled, the moment of return is calculated not in the tropical zodiac, but in the sidereal zodiac (relative to fixed stars). This means that the transiting object will return to exactly the same physical point on the celestial sphere where it was at the moment of birth, correcting for the gradual shift of the Earth’s axis (precession).
- Progressive return: This option allows you to calculate a planet’s return taking into account its progressive displacement, rather than just its static natal position.
- Aspect: You can set an angular distance that will be added to the natal coordinate. For example, by selecting the value
180°for the Sun, you will get a calculation of the dates of demi-solars (when the transiting Sun forms an exact opposition to the natal Sun).
Working with Results and Preview
After clicking the “Calculate” button, a list of exact return dates with times (in UT) is generated.
- Preview window: If the “Show preview” option is activated in the context menu, clicking on any row in the table will cause a pop-up window with the graphical chart of that return to appear nearby. This window is interactive: you can freely move it around the screen and resize it.
Context Menu
Right-clicking on the event list opens a results management menu:
- Apply to dial (1-4): Draw the selected return chart in one of the working dials of the main window.
- Automatically apply to dial (1-4): When this checkbox is enabled, a single left-click on a table row will instantly rebuild the selected working dial to the date of that event.
- Load to Event Pool: Allows you to batch-send the selected returns to the Event Pool for further storage and analysis.
- Show preview: Enables or disables the pop-up chart window.
- Save as PNG: Exports the current table with the list of dates as an image.
