Basic Preferences: Aspectation

The main section for managing all aspects in the program.

Participation in Aspects

Selection of which objects (planets, cusps, lots) can form aspects. Additional options:

• Consider only aspects between “witnessing” signs (for major aspects).
• Whether extra wheel objects will participate in aspectation.
• Enable/disable cusp-to-cusp aspects.
• Consider the opposition between the Lunar Nodes.
• “Conjunctions only” options (for some objects)

In addition to this setting, each dial contains an individual setting for the participation of its objects in aspects.

Aspects and Orbs

This window has 4 areas:

• Auto-selection of aspect pages — for each chart type, you can select its own aspect page. You can also edit any of the existing aspect pages or create a new one by pressing the button . An Aspect Page is a set of aspects with individual orbs.
• Antiscia — set the orb for antiscia.
• Parallels — set orbs for parallels.
• Pointer — set orbs for the Pointer for various scales.

Aspect Pages

Aspect Pages are created and edited here. The aspect pages are located in the left part of the table. From the context menu, these sets can be: created, cloned, renamed, and deleted.

The right part shows the settings of the selected aspect page. From the context menu, aspects can be added or removed. For each aspect, you can set: participation in calculations, value in degrees (in decimal format), glyph, line type, color, and orb value for each type of object. Moreover, the orb value can be set separately for the separating variant of the aspect. In this case, the / symbol must be used between the applying and separating values.

The current aspect page can be quickly called up from the context menu of any aspect.

Additional Options

Two objects entering into some aspect may have different orb values. In this case, the Calculation algorithm option determines how exactly the final orb will be determined: by arithmetic mean between the orbs of these two objects, by the largest orb, or by the smallest.

If the Orb dependency on harmonic option is activated, the final orb value will be modified by the formula orb/harmonic, where orb is the orb value and harmonic is the current harmonic value.

Aspect page files are located in the program folder sets/AspectSets.
