Progressions

This calculation block is designed to find exact progressive events over a selected period of time. You can calculate the interaction of progressive objects both with the natal chart (Prog - Natal) and aspects between progressive planets themselves (Prog - Prog). In the table, the results of “Progression to Progression” calculations are highlighted with a different background color for ease of reading.
The calculation settings are divided into two tabs: “Settings” (selection of objects and aspects) and “Progression Settings” (the algorithm of the method itself).
”Settings” Tab
- Time range: When the window is opened, the start date of the range (the
fromfield) is automatically set to the date of the current background dial. The end of the range is calculated based on the value set in the “Periods (years)” field. - Progressive objects: A panel with checkboxes for quickly selecting objects that will move in progression (planets, house cusps, chart angles).
- Natal objects: Here you can select the points to which aspects will be formed. The
Objectsbutton opens a window for detailed selection of planets and cusps. TheSign boundariesoption is also available — when enabled, the program will record the moments of ingresses of progressive planets into new zodiac signs. - Aspects: A choice of 12 classical and minor aspects is available. If you need a non-standard angle, you can tick the
Custom aspect (uA)checkbox and enter the required value in the field below. - Retrograde: When this option is enabled, the program will “catch” the moments of stations (turnarounds) of planets into retrograde or direct motion (indicated in the table by the symbols
RandD).
”Progression Settings” Tab
In this tab you can change the key parameters of the method itself (e.g., secondary progressions 1 day = 1 year) and select the algorithm for calculating progressive house cusps.
Reading the Results Table
The table produces a chronological list of progressive events:
- Progressive object.
- Aspect symbol (or ingress/phase change).
- Aspect type (
+or-): This column shows the right-side or left-side nature of the applying aspect. Instead of the terms “left/right” (which differ between schools), mathematical symbols are used based on the direction of zodiacal motion. - Natal (or second progressive) object.
- Exact date and time of the exactitude formation.
- Age: The exact age of the native at the moment this progressive event occurs.
Context Menu
Right-clicking on any row in the table brings up a menu with additional functions:
- Apply to dial: Changes the date of the selected chart dial to the date of the calculated event.
- Apply reference event to dial: Changes the date of the selected chart dial to the reference date of the calculated event.
- Export: You can save the table as an image (PNG), document (PDF), text file (TXT), or simply copy it to the clipboard for pasting into another document.
