Chart

This window provides detailed configuration of the astrological chart: its various elements, their sizes, colors, and tooltip display.

Chart Elements

Both the main chart and its alternative variant can be configured here — both modes have independent settings. They are selected with the Main Chart and Alternative Chart options respectively.

”Basic” tab

• House style — there are 2 house styles: Proportional (usually used by European astrologers) and Equal — meaning that houses may have different durations but are displayed as equal sectors (usually used by American astrologers).
• House direction — house numbering goes clockwise or counter-clockwise.
• Chart start — you can choose automatic or set a fixed chart start value.
• Extra wheel (F5) — display an additional outer wheel for showing extra objects. You can also choose to display the coordinates and additional information of extra objects here.
• Void of Course Moon — display the Void of Course Moon arc on the chart. The corresponding calculation algorithm can also be set here.
• Via Combusta — display the Via Combusta arc on the chart. The zodiacal sector of this arc can also be set here.

”Wheels” tab

• Object placement — determines how objects will be placed on the chart relative to the chart center: circularly or radially.
• Object coordinates — display object coordinates on the chart. The coordinates can be displayed:
  • with minutes.
  • with the zodiac sign.
  • radially relative to the object (Radial placement).
• Duplicate markers to outer wheel — object markers will be duplicated on the peripheral circle.

”Rings” tab

In addition to the main wheels (1 through 4), other elements can be displayed on the chart:

• Zodiac Ring — the following can also be displayed on it:
  • graduated scale
  • images instead of zodiac symbols
• House Ring
  • whole sign house system — the house ring will be divided into equal sectors.
  • Roman numerals — Roman numerals will be displayed instead of Arabic house designations.
• Terms Ring
• Decan Ring
• Lunar Mansion Ring — Arabic variant or Indian (with the nakshatras option enabled). This ring has tooltips for each sector (lunar mansion).

”Houses” tab

The settings in this tab relate exclusively to the visualization of astrological houses. The HSA Cusps option is worth noting separately. When this option is active, cusps will be shown only for the current wheel, and they will pierce all wheels. If the Movable Scale is active with the Attach Cusps to Movable Scale option, these cusps will be attached to it.

The house numbering of the current wheel will not be shown if the house ring is activated.

Distances and offsets of house elements are adjusted in Chart Element Sizes.

”Aspects” tab

• Aspects — enable/disable the display of aspects on the chart.
  • Aspect symbols
  • Aspect display options
• Antiscia
• Latitude Parallels
  • Display only if there is a major aspect between the aspects.
  • Only applying parallels
• Declination Parallels
• Altitude Parallels

”HSA” tab

• Pointer A chart element in the form of a disc with main and secondary axes with arrows and various markers. Used mainly in Uranian astrology directions for identifying planetary pictures. It can be rotated by clicking and holding the left mouse button on the Pointer disc. To set the Pointer’s main arrow exactly to the position of an object, click on that object with the left mouse button. This can be replaced with another action in settings. The Pointer can also be set to an arbitrary position, or to one calculated by special Uranian formulas. If Ctrl is held while rotating the Pointer, two additional symmetrical axes appear, with which symmetrical objects relative to the Pointer axis can be viewed. For example, this allows visually detecting contra-parallels in declination mode. Their position relative to the Pointer starts from their last position, not from the Pointer axis. Additional axes can also be set by clicking on the selected object while holding the Alt key. The angular position of the Pointer’s additional axes is fixed until the user forcibly resets them to the default position from the context menu or with CTRL + RMB. The Pointer has a context menu:

  • Pointer Position — opens a coordinate input window to set the Pointer to an arbitrary position.
  • Symmetrical Scale — the scale graduation will be symmetrical relative to 0.
  • Attach Scale to Pointer — if the Scale is used among the chart elements. In this case, the zero mark of the Scale will be attached to the main Pointer axis. The Scale’s ruling will then become symmetrical.
  • Connect Symmetrical Objects — show lines connecting symmetrical objects relative to the main Pointer axis.
  • Orb Sectors — show/hide orb sectors on the wheels.
  • Planetary Pictures Window — show/hide the planetary pictures window.
  • Highlight selected object — the object to which the Pointer is set will be outlined with a red rectangle.
  • Axial School Pointer — switches the Pointer view to the variant used in Axial astrology: starting from the 45-degree scale, the smallest markers are not shown, and exactly in the 45-degree scale, 2 additional markers corresponding to 15-degree distances from the main axis are shown.
  • Extend Pointer Line — extend the main Pointer axis in both directions to the scene boundaries, in Local Space technique.
  • Hide Additional Axes.

• Orb Sectors — when the Pointer is active, semi-transparent sectors are displayed on the wheels, their arcs corresponding to the midpoint orb value.

• Planetary Pictures Window — information in it depends on the Pointer position, which must also be active to visually analyze planetary pictures. If the list does not fit in the window, a thin line on the right side indicates the hidden portion. Scroll with the mouse wheel or arrow keys. Above the window is a coordinate counter showing the coordinate corresponding to the Pointer position. The window allows viewing interpretations of individual factors and midpoints. Click on the desired factor, or on the space between factors to interpret the midpoint. Interpretation texts are selected in Settings → General Settings → Texts. The window can be dragged anywhere on the chart scene by holding the left mouse button — first activate Arbitrary Position from the context menu. From the context menu it can also be transformed into the Arc Resonances Window.

• Arc Resonances Window Clicking any dynamic object shows its coverages across the full arc, half-arc, and double arc. The additional Pointer axes automatically adjust to the arc between the object and its natal counterpart. The two windows can be swapped via the context menu.

• Movable Scale Based on the original Scale developed by A. Witte (founder of the Hamburg School). Like the Pointer, it can be rotated. Context menu:

  • Connect Symmetrical Objects — show/hide lines connecting symmetrical objects relative to the Scale’s main axis.
  • Simple Scale View — toggle the movable Scale view.
  • Highlight Selected Object — the selected object will be outlined with a red rectangle.

• Degree Ring The information on the Degree Ring depends on the selected coordinate system and current scale value. In declination mode, the Ring takes the form of a “Konstantinov Circle” — symmetrical ruling where each half corresponds to the northern and southern hemispheres, divided in 30-degree intervals. This was first presented by Russian Uranian astrologer Konstantin Arev. The Scale will also have symmetrical ruling when Attach Scale to Pointer is active. In declination mode, the Degree Ring context menu:

  • Geographic Latitude Equivalent — displays corresponding marks on the Scale whose color is set in the chart palette.
  • Custom Equivalent Factor — an angular distance used in Hamburg School astrology (360°/2n). Common values: 11.25°, 22.5°, 45°, 60°.
  • Equivalent Factor — set the equivalent factor.
  • Equivalent Color — choose the color for the selected equivalent.

Clicking Select Scale opens the scale configuration window where scales can be added or removed.

Chart Element Sizes

Configure sizes, widths, and positions of various chart elements. Cusp and house symbols and coordinates can be optionally displayed in bold. Sizes can be reset to defaults at any time by clicking the corresponding element in this tab.

Chart Palette

Configure colors for various chart elements.

Additional Chart Palette Options

• Zodiac sign colors in coordinates match element colors — displays Zodiac symbols in the colors of the corresponding elements.
• Show Zodiac boundaries — Zodiacal region boundaries in the Zodiac belt are highlighted with outlines.
• Enable Zodiac circle gradient — applies a radial gradient to the Zodiac circle, inversely proportional to its opacity.
• Zodiac overlaps inner chart wheels — the Zodiac wheel overlaps the main wheels and term/decan belts.
• Zodiac circle opacity — set directly, with arrows, or with the mouse wheel.
• Opacity of all main wheels and term/decan belts — relevant when “Zodiac overlaps inner chart wheels” is enabled.

These settings are saved in the chart palette set. Chart palette files are in the program folder sets/PaletteSets.

Interface Theme

Interface colors (buttons, controls, text, background, etc.) can also be changed. Select one of the available themes to combine with the chart palette for a harmonious design. Themes can be edited and new ones created with Ctrl+F2. The 3 tabs correspond to 3 interface element states:

• Active — in focus
• Inactive — no focus
• Disabled

Color schemes can be copied between tabs via the context menu. Interface palette files are in sets → InterfacePaletteSets.

Chart Element Tooltips

When the mouse cursor hovers over a chart object, aspect, or house cusp, a tooltip is displayed. Configure tooltip options in this tab.
