Dmitry Potapov — creator of ZEUS astrology software

Dmitry's interest in astrology goes back to the 1980s — a time when access to specialized knowledge in the Soviet Union was sharply limited. Even then, it was clear how much precision, structure, and practical applicability matter in astrological work.

Professional training

Formal study began in 2003 at the School of Scientific Astrology under Sergey Bezborody. After completing the program, Dmitry continued his training with Denis Kutalev and Konstantin Arev, which deepened his foundation and added medieval and Uranian techniques to his practice.

How ZEUS came to be

Years of client work made one thing apparent: existing astrology software rarely provided the exact combination of calculations and workflow that daily consulting practice actually requires.

That gap led to the idea of building a dedicated tool — first as a supplement to what was already in use, then as a standalone program designed around the real needs of a working astrologer. To make it happen, Dmitry learned C++.

It became clear early on that this wasn't going to be a small utility. A proper astrology program demands not just accurate calculations, but coherent logic, flexible configuration, a well-thought-out interface, and genuine comfort in daily use. The initial version took about a year to build, followed by an extended period of open testing and continuous development.

How ZEUS keeps growing

ZEUS has always developed in close dialogue with practicing astrologers — through hands-on experience, professional exchange, and feedback from users across many countries. Suggestions and observations from specialists working in different traditions and consulting styles have shaped every major release.

The result is a program that has grown into something more than a calculation engine — it's a full working environment for the practicing astrologer. Particular focus goes to calculation accuracy, everyday usability, and solid support for the full range of astrological approaches.

Today ZEUS gives special attention to traditional astrology, Uranian astrology, Magi Astrology, harmonic astrology, and astrocartography. It runs on Windows and macOS, updates regularly, and continues to evolve as a tool for those who value precision, practicality, and a workspace they can genuinely make their own.

Expert consultants and methodology

ZEUS has developed through ongoing dialogue with the professional astrological community. Two recognized masters have played a particularly important role in shaping the program's computational foundation and methodological approach.
