Directions

This calculation module is designed to compute symbolic directions and directions based on the diurnal arc within a specified time range. A unique feature of this module is that Significators (natal/fixed objects) and Promissors (directional/moving objects) can be assigned from different chart dials, which is configured at the top of the window.
Time and Object Settings
- Time Range: Specify the period for the event search (from the start date for the required number of years ahead).
- Direction: In the drop-down list, you can choose between direct (forward in time) or converse (backward) movement of the promissors.
- Objects: The
Objectsbutton allows you to flexibly configure which planets and fictitious points will act as promissors and significators (based on your current object set). - Sign Boundaries: When this checkbox is enabled, the program will record the moments when directional planets (promissors) cross into new zodiac signs (ingresses). Aspects between house cusps depend on the program’s configuration setting “Aspects of cusps to cusps”.
Aspects
By default, you can choose from 12 major aspects. In the “Additional Aspects” block, you can enable 4 minor angles (22.5°, 67.5°, 112.5°, 157.5°). If you need a specific angle, check the Custom aspect (uA) box and enter the value in degrees.
Direction Algorithm Settings
The lower right part of the window contains the fine-tuning block for the method:
- Direction Type: Choose between zodiacal (along the ecliptic) and equatorial directions.
- Diurnal Arc: If this option is activated, the direction arc will correspond to the distance traveled by the selected object. If deactivated, the arc is entered manually or selected from presets in the arc input box’s context menu:
- Naibod arc - 000° 59’ 08”
- Cardano arc - 000° 59’ 12”
- Mean lunar motion - 013° 10’ 37”
- Correspondence Period: Set the time key (e.g., 1 Tropical year).
- Coefficient: The field displays the current mathematical shift coefficient.
- Calculate cusps from MC: This checkbox allows you to select a specific algorithm for the movement of directional cusps.
Reading the Results Table
After calculation, a table of exact hits (exact aspects) is generated:
- Prom. — Promissor (moving point).
- Dir. — Direction symbol (direct or converse).
- Sig. — The aspect formed to the Significator (or sign ingress).
- Arc — The angular distance of the directional arc in degrees.
- Age — The native’s age at the time of the event (accurate to tenths).
- Date — The exact date the aspect is formed.
Synchronization and Export
- The chain-link button (to the right of “Calculate”) — “Synchronize with Time Dynamics”. When activated, the table will automatically recalculate in real-time if you change the date in the main program window, without needing to press “Calculate” again.
- Right-clicking on any row in the table opens a context menu for Exporting data. The table can be copied to the clipboard (as text or an image), and saved in PNG, PDF, or TXT formats.
