The heavyweights of the field grew up on Windows and stayed there: Solar Fire, Janus, Sirius and Kepler have no Mac versions (Solar Fire X for Mac is announced but, as of September 2026, not released). The usual advice is to buy Parallels, buy a Windows license, and run a virtual machine — three extra costs and a second operating system to babysit, before you cast a single chart. Yes. ZEUS is a regular macOS application: it installs from a .dmg and runs on both Intel and M-series Macs (macOS 10.13 and later) with a Retina/HiDPI interface — no emulators, no virtual machines, no Windows license. The current build is Intel-based and runs on Apple Silicon through macOS's built-in Rosetta 2 translation; a native Apple Silicon build is in development.
