Detailed description of the built-in configurations of the ZEUS astroprocessor

After installing the ZEUS astroprocessor, users typically need to customize the program to fit their specific needs—taking into account visual preferences and the requirements of their practiced astrological school. While you can create a configuration from scratch in ZEUS, it is much more efficient to use one of the ready-made configurations that best matches your tasks. The program already includes several built-in configurations covering major astrological traditions. Each of them is described below.

MODERN — universal configuration

The "Modern" configuration in the Zeus program A universal configuration designed primarily for “modern” classical astrologers. It can be used as a foundation for creating any custom configuration.

  • Hotkey “Q” — quick toggle between a traditional horoscope and a cosmogram.
  • Stars based on B. Brady’s system are selected as extra-objects.
  • House system, harmonics, aspect sets, and other settings can be quickly changed via widgets on the right panel.
  • The right panel also provides access to time and location dynamics controls.
  • On the scene, besides the chart, you will find: dial and system data, an aspect table, and a coordinates table.

TRADITIONAL — for traditional astrologers

The "Traditional" configuration in the Zeus program This configuration is tailored for traditional astrologers.

  • In addition to the zodiacal belt, term and decan belts are displayed.
  • The default house system is Regiomontanus.
  • The object set is limited to the septener and two Lots: Fortune and Spirit.
  • On the scene, besides the chart: dial and system data, rulers of the day and hour, a coordinates table, a 30-degree scale, and a condensed essential dignities table.
  • Hotkey “Q” — quickly sets the chart’s starting point to 0° Aries. Significant assistance in developing features related to traditional techniques was provided by masters in this field: Denis Kutalyov (Russia), Denis Steingof (Israel), Sergey Kovalenko (Uzbekistan), Petr Radek (Czech Republic), and Mohammad Mohebi (Iran).

HORARY — for horary chart analysis

The Horary configuration in the Zeus program This configuration is designed for analyzing horary charts.

  • The main dial contains only key objects; outer planets and the dodecatemorion of the ascendant are moved to an extra-dial.
  • A large number of tables are placed on the scene.
  • The Moon’s void of course and the via combusta are highlighted with arcs on the chart.
  • The right panel is set to a simplified mode (displaying icons instead of widgets) to save space and reduce visual clutter, which is especially useful for smaller monitors.

Performance note. When working in this configuration, the interface response might be slow—this is due to resource-intensive calculations in the “Sequence of Events” scene table. It can be disabled if necessary.

MEDIEVAL — Denis Kutalyov’s configuration

The Medieval configuration in the Zeus program This configuration is used by Denis Kutalyov both in his daily practice and teaching activities.

URANIAN — for Uranian astrology

The Uranian configuration in the Zeus program This configuration is intended for Uranian astrologers.

  • The chart is displayed with a 90° dial and the complete set of Hamburg School objects.
  • The Pointer is activated inside the chart: rotating it interactively updates the information in the planetary pictures window and draws lines connecting symmetrical objects relative to the Pointer.
  • The right panel features a Uranian formulas widget: it allows you to quickly set the Pointer to the coordinate corresponding to the selected formula and see the involved objects.
  • The Hamburg horoscopes widget provides quick access to any of them. An alternative method is to Ctrl + Click and hold on the desired object.
  • Hotkey “Q” — return to the original chart.
  • “Dial” widget — select the required dial scale.
  • Time dynamics controls are placed in a widget for the fastest access.

AXIAL ASTROLOGY — axial astrology

The Axial Astrology configuration in the Zeus program Axial astrology was formed by rethinking the key concepts of Hamburg and Uranian astrology. This branch is actively developed by Russian astrologers Konstantin Arev and Denis Kutalyov. This configuration fully meets the requirements of the Axial school and provides all the necessary tools.

DECLINATIONS — declinations and “Konstantin’s Circle”

The Declinations configuration in the Zeus program In the early 2000s, Konstantin Arev developed a tool for conveniently analyzing symmetrical pictures in declination coordinates — “Konstantin’s Circle”. The tool’s unique feature is that the circle is divided into two equal parts (North and South), each with exactly 30 divisions corresponding to declination coordinates. This configuration is the software implementation of that tool.

ANCIENT — ancient techniques

The Ancient configuration in the Zeus program This configuration is designed for astrologers working with Hellenistic and ancient techniques.

  • Intermediate cusps are disabled; the sectors of the whole sign house system are clearly visible.
  • Minimal traditional set of objects and aspects.
  • Stars based on B. Brady’s system are used as extra-objects.
  • Antiscia are displayed alongside aspects.
  • A planetary sects table is additionally included.

MAGI ASTROLOGY — astrology of success

The Magi Astrology configuration in the Zeus program Magi Astrology is a popular Western branch focused on determining pathways to success. The ZEUS astroprocessor features specialized tools for this methodology. Hotkey “Q” switches to the quad detection mode. In the Russian-speaking community, this approach is popularized by astrologer Alexander Kolesnikov.

HARMONICS — working with harmonics

The Harmonics configuration in the Zeus program This configuration is designed for comprehensive work with harmonics. Specialized tools were developed in close collaboration with astrologer and harmonics expert Anton Evdokimov.

HARMONICS (Evdokimov) — harmonics by Evdokimov’s method

The Harmonics (Evdokimov) configuration in the Zeus program This configuration is similar to the previous one but adapted to the specifics of working with harmonics using Anton Evdokimov’s method. While HARMONICS is tuned to a more classical Hamblin approach, this configuration incorporates the author’s unique methodology. The key difference between them lies in the approach to aspects.

TARASOV — “Astrological Algorithm”

The Tarasov configuration in the Zeus program This configuration implements the “Astrological Algorithm” methodology developed by astrologer Valery Tarasov. The method is based on classical astrology, but fundamental principles have been re-evaluated through years of practical experience. To date, the author has published two books dedicated to his methodology. This configuration is fully prepared for comfortable work with this method, including tools not found in other programs.

MUNDANE — mundane positions

The Mundane configuration in the Zeus program A distinctive feature of this configuration is that it uses the mundane positions of objects instead of the ecliptic coordinate system. For example, primary directions can be accurately visualized in this configuration.

LOCAL SPACE — azimuthal coordinates

The Local Space configuration in the Zeus program This configuration is designed for working with azimuthal coordinates. By default, the astrological azimuth for the Northern Hemisphere is selected; antiscia are displayed on the chart.

ACG — astrocartography

The ACG configuration in the Zeus program The main window displays a geographical map that can be zoomed in down to the house level. The technique corresponds to Jim Lewis’s methodology. To the left of the main map are two horoscopes: the bottom one is natal, and the top one is relocational. Map controls:

  • Mouse wheel — smooth zooming.
  • LMB + Ctrl + rectangular selection — quick zoom into the selected area.
  • LMB + Shift + drag — measure the distance or azimuth between two points (information is displayed above the cursor).
  • LMB + Alt — interactively change the relocational position.
  • Click + Alt on a created location — delete the location.
  • The map’s context menu contains additional options, including creating new locations and adjusting Local Space lines. Cyclocartography is also available in this configuration. In the near future, astrocartography features in ZEUS will be significantly expanded.

AMERICAN — non-proportional house style

The American configuration in the Zeus program In this configuration, all houses are visually equal in size, but their coordinate values are displayed at the cusps. This display style is widely used among American astrologers.

SPHERE — 3D celestial sphere (currently Windows only)

The Sphere configuration in the Zeus program This configuration displays the Celestial Sphere in 3D: a globe whose diameter defines the local horizon at the time of the current event, intersected by the ecliptic, displaying planets, and projecting stars onto the sphere’s surface.

  • Mouse drag — rotate the sphere.
  • Mouse wheel + Ctrl — zoom.
  • Numerous settings are available, including color schemes.
